So it’s been a bit of a mad few months. I’ve been massively slacking on my blog so I’m sorry for being neglectful! Me and Tom went to Cuba back in June and spent 10 days travelling around Cuba and exploring everything the amazing country had to offer. I’ll be doing another blog post soon on what we did, where we stayed and everything in between. For now though, I want to tell you about some exciting news we have!

In May we fell in love with a house in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Another renovation project of course, we made the highest offer but they declined it because our house wasn’t on the market and we weren’t in a position to sell quickly. So at the start of June we put our house up on the market. We had it valued at a higher price than originally thought, so we thought we would see what we could get for it. During our trip to Cuba it was playing on my mind a lot, I had a lot of questions running around in my head – Is it the right time to sell? Will selling the house disrupt my studies? Am I going to miss our house too much? Do we need another project when we’ve only just finished one?! So when we got back from holiday we made the decision to take it off the market.

It was only a few weeks later curiosity got the better of me and I started flicking through Rightmove and seeing what was up for sale in the area when I stumbled across a 400 year old cottage in need of some TLC. We went and viewed this gorgeous house and instantly fell in love, then after a lot of negotiating an offer was accepted! So we put our house back on the market and within a week it had sold! It’s been a whirlwind of emotions so far; excitement, anxiousness, happiness but mostly we are so looking forward to having a bigger home for our two dogs!

The cottage has a lot of character, we’re going to do a lot of work on it to get it how we want but it’s very liveable and if all goes well we might be in before Christmas! We’ll be very sad leaving our home in Biggleswade, it was our first home as a married couple and we’ve gutted that place and made it beautiful, but I know we’ll be equally as happy in our new home and it will mean the dogs get much more room to run around!

I've created a Pinterest board where I've been adding some inspo; here are a few things we've both loved so far...

Keep your eyes peeled for more house news! We can't wait to get started on this little beauty!
